Women’s Philanthropy Leadership Council (WPLC) Fund
The Women’s Philanthropy Leadership Council (WPLC) consists of extraordinary volunteers committed to transforming lives in our IU communities and beyond. Each year, the WPLC Fund provides life-changing grants toward initiatives seeking to fulfill critical needs and innovative solutions to social problems. Thus far, gifts have provided eye care for 350+ low-income children, supplied aid to 260+ underserved IU students, funded a pilot educational program for 1,000+ women, and so much more! Learn how you can help the WPLC empower our communities, while championing more women to lead, encourage, and impact our world.
The Women Behind the IU Trident
For decades, the original artist of the IU trident had remained a mystery—that is, until genealogist and librarian Maura Johnston, BA’97, MIS’99, read “Who Is KDVD? An IU History Mystery” in the 2021 edition of Imagine magazine. She emailed the editor, stating, “I saw your mystery and went looking.” Upon further research, Johnston concluded, “I think KDVD might be Katherine Devol Van Dusen Danenhower.” Read more about how two women made history at IU: one who created the IU trident and another who helped unearth that legacy.
Matching gifts
All donors want to maximize the impact of their giving, and employer matching gifts can do just that. Currently, over 24,000 companies will match donations to IU, and your employer could be one of them! Whether your gift is one-time or recurring or your company is large or small, your financial support for your favorite IU cause may be eligible to be doubled or even tripled. See if your company matches!
Introducing a streamlined, more sustainable way to provide you with important tax information.
In January 2024, the IU Foundation initiated a new way of delivering official tax receipts for your charitable gifts to Indiana University. Whereas our former practice was to mail you a separate tax receipt for every individual gift you made throughout a calendar year, our new practice is to send you a singular, annual receipt for gifts you made during the previous calendar year.
For gifts that are not made electronically, we will continue to mail you a printed confirmation of your gift; but that will not serve as your official tax receipt. A tax receipt will be mailed to you in January of the year following your gift(s).
Please note that certain kinds of contributions may not be included in your receipt, as indicated underneath your total. Should you have any questions regarding the information on your tax receipt, please contact Gift Services at 800-558-8311 or via email at iufgift@indiana.edu.
Thank you for your generous support of IU!
Your giving matters
The Indiana University alumni network doesn’t have any borders, language, or specific location. It’s a community brought together by people from different backgrounds, origins, and experiences who will do anything to support each other and contribute to your success.
