Career Connections with GSP
Homecoming is approaching and with that comes the GAA Career Connections program. This program was started by Samuel Young, II Associate Director of the Groups Scholars Program, as an alumni-based project to help connect the GSP freshman class to alumni of various careers.
The program consists of round table discussions where students can glean from alumni their paths to careers and possible opportunities for continued mentor/mentee relationships.
Participants must be available on the Friday of IU Homecoming Weekend, October 7, 2022 from 11:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
In order for this event to be successful we will need the following:
- 10-20 alumni participants
- At least 10 different career/ disciplines represented, like:
- Technology/ Computer Science occupations
- Arts & Arts Admin.
- Legal occupations
- Protective Services
- Public Health
- Military Specific occupations
- Culturally and ethnically diverse alumni including LGBTQIA+
Created in 1968 as a way to increase college attendance among first-generation, underrepresented students at Indiana University, the Groups Scholars Program provides academic, financial, and social support to help students attain a bachelor's degree at Indiana University.
