Autumn Express: An Alumni Train Excursion

All aboard the Autumn Express! IUAA and IU Fort Wayne are chartering a private train just for our IU Alumni! We've partnered with the esteemed Indiana Rail Experience to bring our alumni their very own IU Experience. Come take in the breathtaking views aboard a beautiful train as we journey from Pleasant Lake, IN to Hillsdale, MI and back.

Aboard the train you will experience the beautiful fall colors of the scenic journey, hear from a live band, The Baggage Car Boys, as they travel up and down the train, as well as enjoy beverages as you relax with friends both old and new. Fun, self-paced train activities will also be available. Upon arrival in Hillsdale, we will enjoy a 2-hour layover with a catered lunch at Hillsdale Brewing Company (alcohol for purchase) as well as axe throwing (Ages 14+), a kids play area, and streaming the IU Football Game against Michigan. On the journey back, enjoy more of the same with the added bonus of delicious hand crafted donuts served for a sweet treat as we travel back to Indiana.

Ticket tiers are as follows:

Crimson First Class Ticket

This ticket includes exclusive seating in a luxury rail car newly renovated by Indiana Rail Experience. Enjoy comfy seating, complimentary bar service onboard the train, complimentary snacks onboard the train, and exclusive time with the band. Lunch is provided at the Hillsdale Brewing Company, as well as a donut treat on the train ride back. Guest may also access the open-air car to take in the beautiful views.

• Kid’s meal option of Dino nuggets and corn dogs will be served to all child tickets
• Adult: $150 per person
• Child (ages 3-12): $150 per person
• Infant Lap Child (ages 2 & under): $0 per person

Cream Economy Class Ticket

This ticket includes seating in a deluxe coach car. Seating is traditional train seating with rows facing each other in groups of 4, perfect for conversation and making new friends. Enjoy complimentary water and soft drinks from the bar, with beer and wine available for purchase. Lunch is provided at the Hillsdale Brewing Company, as well as a donut treat on the train ride back. Guests may also access the open-air car to take in the beautiful views.

• Groups larger than 4 will be split near each other as much as possible
• Kid’s meal option of Dino nuggets and corn dogs will be served to all child tickets
• Adult: $75 per person
• Child (ages 3-12): $50 per person
• Infant Lap Child (ages 2 & under): $0 per person
