IUAA Chicago: Night at the Opera - Aida
Join IUAA Chicago and the Jacobs School of Music for a night of networking and music as we celebrate famous alumna Jamie Barton and renowned professor Russell Thomas, both performing in the Lyric Opera production of Aida.
Jamie Barton is a critically acclaimed mezzo-soprano. She is respected not only for her immense talent and voice but also for her advocacy work lifting up women, queer people, and other marginalized communities. The New York Times calls her "Opera's Nose-Studded Rock Star."
Russell Thomas, Professor of Practice (Voice) at IU is recognized as a "tenor of gorgeously burnished power." He is known for creating vivid character portrayals on the world's most important stages.
