Marching Hundred: Homecoming 2023

WELCOME BACK!
We are excited to welcome all former members of the Indiana University Marching Hundred, Drum Majors, RedSteppers, Drumline, Twirlers, and Color Guard back to Bloomington for this year’s Homecoming game against Rutgers University. We also welcome back Marching Hundred Director Emeritus Stephen W. Pratt, who will conduct the band in rehearsal and on the field.
Registration is $40.00 per person and includes coffee, bagels and muffins Saturday morning and a box lunch at Cramer Hall prior to the Homecoming football game. Guests are welcome! Our caterer this year is the Bloomington Bagel Company.
Advanced registration is required. Please register by October 6, 2023.
HOMECOMING PARADE AND STEPS PERFORMANCE
Back by popular demand, the weekend kicks off with our rehearsal and performance on the Cramer Hall steps, Friday, October 20 at 4:00 p.m. The Homecoming Parade will start at 5:30 p.m. Those wishing to join the Marching Hundred in the parade can meet them at the staging area at 13th and Forrest after the steps performance. The parade will start on 13th Street and continue north on Woodlawn until it concludes near Cramer Hall at 17th Street.
HOMECOMING GAME DAY
The 2023 Homecoming Game vs. Rutgers is at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, October 21. Join your fellow Marching Hundred Alumni Band members for a breakfast of coffee, fruit, bagels, muffins and pastries, our annual alumni meeting, pre-game rehearsal, and a pre-game lunch at Cramer Hall. INSTRUMENT AND MUSIC DETAILS
Bring your own instrument, mouthpiece, and lyre. Sousaphones, baritones, mellophones, and percussion instruments will be available to those who register by September 23. Please indicate on your registration form that you need an instrument.
Music will be available to download after you've registered. Music will not be provided by mail.
IU FOOTBALL TICKET INFORMATION
Your registration to participate on the field Saturday will generate an admission ticket. Game tickets for guests are NOT included and must be ordered separately by calling Kurt Pangborn in the Indiana Athletic Ticket Office at 812-855-9370. Be sure to mention the “Rusty Pipes” group at the start of your order. Tickets - $35.00. Order by Friday, October 6 to ensure your place in the group block. Seats will be assigned next to the band in the northeast corner of Memorial Stadium.
RUSTY PIPES ROVING BAND
The Rusty Pipes Roving Alumni Band will play in the tailgate parking areas prior to the pre-game on-field show. Please meet at 10:30 a.m. at Cramer Hall to walk over to the tailgate areas together. This is an optional activity and all band members, RedSteppers, and Color Guard members are welcome to participate.
ALUMNI AWARDS AND RECOGNITIONS
To nominate an Alumni Band member for the Newell Hillis Long Award or the Marching Hundred Distinguished Alumni Award, please request a form by emailing mhalumni@indiana.edu.
MARCHING HUNDRED ALUMNI BAND APPAREL
In 2019, The Marching Hundred Alumni Council designed updated apparel for all Alumni Band members to give the band a more cohesive look. Items include shirts, jackets, and hats and there are options for Marching Hundred, RedSteppers, Drumline, and Color Guard alumni. Our goal is to have the entire Alumni Band outfitted in the look again this year. Please click here to order by September 30.

New alumni—Classes of 2021, 2022, 2023—if you are going to attend Homecoming, to welcome you to the ranks, you may request a polo, without charge. The polo must be picked up on Homecoming morning at check-in.

We will honor Marching Hundred alumni who have passed away since October 2022 at our annual meeting. Please send necrologies to mhalumni@indiana.edu.
