Game, Set, Match: IU’s Pickleball Champions

What started as a casual backyard pastime has quickly become one of America’s fastest-growing sports—and Indiana University is serving up success. In this episode, host Nattie Meador talks with the people who transformed IU pickleball from a community club into a four-time champion.

Carter Maris is a member of IU’s club pickleball team and is currently studying Finance and Real Estate at the Kelley School of Business.

Mehvish Safdar is a three-time state tennis champion (Ohio), nationally-ranked former Division I tennis player, and current member of IU’s club pickleball team. She is a PhD student studying psychology.

Timber Tucker is the head coach of IU’s club pickleball team. He also owns Bloomington’s only indoor pickleball facility, The Crimson Pickle.

John Moorin is a founding member and captain of IU’s club pickleball team.
