We’ve got your number
A low-digit number on your IU license plate is a great way to make a personal statement while showing your IU pride. The big question – what’s your number? Your degree year or year you were born are solid choices, or maybe Nobel laureates with IU ties (8), or IU’s undefeated basketball season (76). You get the idea.
- Numbers run from 1 to 100.
- The IU plate is available in seven series (each with numbers from 1 to 100). The prefixes for the series are CC, HH, HR, HS, HZ, IN, IU, QT, and WE.
- The prefix-number combinations are given on a first-come-first-served basis, so your first choice might be taken. Have alternatives in mind.
- Once you’ve called and found your prefix and number, the IUAA provides a Low Digit Assignment for a Distinctive License Plate form (State Form 54845) to be used at your local BMV.
- The low-digit IU plates carry a one-time $30 fee and an annual $40 fee, paid to the BMV.
- Your prefix-number combination is guaranteed until 2025.
