Indianapolis, Ind. – Indiana University Foundation (IUF) is proud to announce the launch of the Latino Philanthropy Circle (LPC) in conjunction with National Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15 – October 15). The LPC is a new initiative committed to empowering the Latino community on all IU campuses by uniting alumni and friends who are passionate about supporting the educational and professional success of Latino students, faculty, and staff. Although officially named the Latino Philanthropy Circle, it welcomes all who identify with, or seek to provide allyship and support to Latino, Latina, Latine, Hispanic, Latinx communities, or other related identifiers.

The LPC is the most recent addition to Affinity Giving at the IU Foundation. Affinity Giving focuses on maximizing individual and collective philanthropic impact across IU via critical intersections in allyship and identity of those served and engaged.

“The Latino community is a vibrant and essential part of IU,” said J T. Forbes, President and CEO of the Indiana University Foundation. “With the launch of the Latino Philanthropy Circle, we are creating a platform for our Latino donors, alumni, and allies to unite and help us ensure an even brighter future for generations of IU’s Latino community.”

The LPC will offer giving circle members opportunities to:

Invest in programs and resources that empower IU’s Latino students, faculty, and staff to achieve their academic, research, and professional goals.

Network with fellow IU Latino alumni, allies, and donors.

Engage with IU leadership and faculty on issues and initiatives important to the Latino community.

“As a proud Latina alumna of IU, I am honored to join the Latino Philanthropy Circle as a founder,” says Patricia Mota, President and CEO for the Hispanic Alliance for Career Enhancement (HACE). “This initiative empowers us to invest in the university that has nurtured my success and ensure that current and future IU Latino students, faculty, and staff have expanded access to even more opportunities than I had.”
