The Indiana University Foundation welcomes three distinguished members to its Board of Directors

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana University Foundation (IUF) welcomes three new members to its Board of Directors: Nate Feltman, Kevin Gay, and Marya Rose. The IUF Board stewards and supports Indiana University’s (IU) fundraising goals and serves as the legal governing body of the Foundation. These new members will join a group of experienced leaders and subject-matter experts who are committed to securing a strong and lasting future for IU.
“We are honored and pleased to welcome Nate, Kevin, and Marya to the IU Foundation Board of Directors," said IUF President and CEO J T. Forbes. “They each possess unique expertise and experiences that will further the board’s mission to support Indiana University. I am excited to collaborate with them.”
Nate Feltman

Nate Feltman is chief executive officer and owner of IBJ Media, parent company of the Indianapolis Business Journal, Inside Indiana Business and the Indiana Lawyer. He also serves as publisher for the Indianapolis Business Journal and the Indiana Lawyer, writes a bi-monthly column for the IBJ that covers business, politics and community, and hosts “Off the Record”, a podcast featuring influential Hoosiers.
Nate serves as chairman and co-owner of the Indiana Liquor Group
Nate began his career as a corporate lawyer working in Moscow, Russia for the law firm Baker & McKenzie, then as a partner at Chicago and Indianapolis based law firms focusing his practice on mergers and acquisitions. He transitioned from law to business in 2010 serving as co-owner and chief executive officer of the medical equipment company Home Health Depot until its sale to Lincare.
Appointed by Governor Mitch Daniels, Nate served as Secretary of Commerce for the State of Indiana and chief executive officer of the Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC) Prior to that role, he was the executive vice president and general counsel at the IEDC.
Nate currently serves on the board of directors of Central Indiana Corporate Partnership, Economic Club of Indiana, Indy Chamber, Liberty Fund, Mitch Daniels Leadership Foundation, National Bank of Indianapolis, and the Pierre F & Enid Goodrich Foundation. He is also a member of the Dean’s Advisory Counsel for the Hamilton Lugar School of Global & International Studies at Indiana University and the Indiana University McKinney School of Law Board of Visitors.
Nate holds a bachelor’s degrees in business from the Kelley School of Business and political science from Indiana University-Bloomington. He received his law degree from Indiana University McKinney School of Law and a masters in Russian law from the Institute of State and Law, Russian Academy of Sciences in Moscow, Russia.
Kevin Gay

Kevin Gay grew up in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and earned a master’s in business administration from Indiana University Kelley School of Business and a bachelor’s degree from Villanova University.
He has built a career in financial management in nonprofit and for-profit businesses. Currently, Kevin serves as the chief financial officer of the Yosemite Conservancy, a San Francisco-based national nonprofit dedicated to raising funds through donations and various fundraising activities to support the National Park Service in preserving Yosemite National Park.
Prior to joining the Yosemite Conservancy, Kevin served as chief financial officer of Summer Search, a national youth development nonprofit that operates in five cities helping under-resourced high school students access and succeed in their post-secondary pursuits. Earlier in his career Kevin held senior financial roles in the building of several private equity-funded companies. He also served as an associate at Aurora Capital Partners, a private equity firm in Los Angeles, California and as a manager in the management consulting division of KPMG in San Francisco, California. He began his professional career as a corporate banking officer at Mellon Bank in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania.
Kevin is a founding member of the IU Foundation’s Black Philanthropy Circle and holds leadership roles on several community nonprofit boards. Outside of his professional life, he is an avid sports enthusiast, nature lover and long-distance hiker with a passion for traveling and experiencing the outdoors and cultural attractions. Kevin lives in San Francisco with his wife, Mona.
Marya Rose

Marya Rose spent most of her working career at Cummins Inc., retiring in May 2021 as the chief administrative officer responsible for nine global functions including communications, marketing, government relations, ethics and compliance, enterprise risk management, facilities, security, corporate responsibility, and Cummins shared services team. Marya was named to that role in 2011, after serving as general counsel and secretary to the Cummins Board of Directors for 10 years. Prior to joining Cummins, she worked for two Indiana Governors and practiced law in Indianapolis.
Marya now serves in leadership positions on several not-for-profit boards in Indiana, including the Planned Parenthood affiliate that includes Indiana and Kentucky, and is a member of the Board of the Central Indiana Community Foundation. A graduate of Williams College and the Indiana University McKinney School of Law, Marya lives in Indianapolis, Indiana and in Boulder, Colorado with her husband, Tony.
