How do I set up or adjust a recurring gift?
You can easily update the amount, skip a payment, pause, or cancel your recurring gift. If you would like to change the frequency of your gift (monthly or annual), you will need to cancel the gift and create a new one.
How can I find out if my company has a matching gift program?

Why can’t I see (or why didn’t I receive) a tax receipt for my gift?
An annual tax receipt will be sent to you by U.S. mail in January of the year following your gift(s).
The following types of gifts will be included in your annual tax receipt: standard gifts; gifts made online or via cash, check, wire transfer, or credit card; recurring gifts; quid pro quo (U.S. and Canada); and in-kind (U.S. and Canada, less than $5,000).
Annual tax receipts do not include the following: revocable planned gifts; planned gifts; irrevocable planned gifts; gifts of stock; gifts of personal property or real estate; charitable IRA rollovers; recognition credits; matching gifts acknowledgements; and unknown donor gifts.
What is the IU Foundation’s tax ID number?
The Indiana University Foundation, Inc., is a Not-For-Profit Corporation organized under the laws of the State of Indiana. Its Federal Employer Identification Number is 35-6018940.
How do I log in to My IU?
Follow these three steps to log in to My IU.
Step one: Create a My IU account
Create a My IU account with Google or LinkedIn.
- Select “Sign in” in the My IU menu.
- Select “Sign in with Google” or “Sign in with LinkedIn.”
- Enter your Google or LinkedIn username and password.
You will automatically be sent to step two to create an IU record or connect your My IU account to your existing IU record.
Create a My IU account with an email address.
- Select “Sign in” in the My IU menu.
- Select “Email Address.”
- In the bottom of the login modal select the “Create Account” button.
- In the “Account Management” modal, enter your first name, last name, and email address and click the “Create” button.
- Check your email for a verification link.
- Click on the verification link in your email.
- Enter a password of your choice. Your password must be at least 7 characters and contain three of the following: 1 uppercase letter, 1 lowercase letter, 1 symbol, and 1 number.
- Click the “Activate Account” button.
- Go back to MyIU.org, click “Sign in” and use the email address option with your newly created password.
You will automatically be sent to step two to create an IU record or connect your My IU account to your existing IU record.
Step two: Create or connect to your IU record.
Now that I have created a My IU sign-in, how do I create or connect to my IU record?
After creating your My IU account, you will be automatically sent to a form to create or connect your IU record. There are three options to choose from:
- I am affiliated with IU. Select this option if you are an alumnus/a, faculty, staff, IUAA Life member, student, or parent. If you are a donor but do not fall into any of the categories listed, please contact Advancement Resources and Liaison Operations (ARLO) at 317-278-ARLO (2756) or arlo@iu.edu to request a claim code. Staff are available Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m. ET.
- I am not affiliated with IU. Select this option if you are not affiliated with IU.
- I was sent a claim code. Select this option if you have received a claim code. Don’t forget to include the dashes!
Step three: Sign in to My IU.
Once you have created a My IU account and created or connected to your IU record, simply:
- Select “Sign in” in the My IU menu.
- Choose one of the methods offered to sign in to your account.
