Student Success

Opportunity changes everything

A transformative education should be driven by talent, not circumstance. Through this campaign, we will ensure that IU students have the access, support, and resources to thrive—in the classroom and far beyond.

When we remove barriers, we unleash potential. When we invest in students, we invest in the future of communities near and far.

Priority 1: Enabling student success

More access. More opportunities. More promise, fully realized.

Here’s how you can help.

Need-based scholarships

Financial barriers should never limit a student’s future. Through this campaign, we aspire to close the gap of unmet need for all IU students—opening doors that might otherwise remain closed.

Merit-based scholarships

Top talent belongs at IU. Merit-based scholarships help us attract and retain driven, high-achieving students who elevate classrooms, research, and communities.

Student-centered programmatic support

Our work doesn’t stop at admission. Your gift can strengthen advising, mentoring, experiential learning, mental health resources, career preparation, and more—ensuring that students can thrive from orientation to graduation and beyond.

A special opportunity for donors

If you’ve ever considered making an endowed scholarship gift, now is the perfect time to do so.

As part of the Never Daunted campaign, the IU Foundation created the Scholarship Impact Accelerator: a limited-time opportunity to amplify the power of your generosity.

When you give to a qualifying endowed fund, the Accelerator program puts your gift right to work, enabling you to quickly see the incredible difference you’re making in students’ lives.

Generosity in action

Behind every new scholarship is a student whose trajectory will be changed. Behind every enhanced program is a future leader finding their path.

Explore stories of students and alumni whose lives have been shaped by generosity—and the donors who made it all possible.

Opening doors for students

Don Knauss, a first-generation college student who worked at steel mills to pay for tuition, has never forgotten what access to education made possible. Now, he and his wife, Ellie, are making it possible for others.

Empowering future leaders

Since 1968, the Groups Scholars Program has turned first-generation students into Indiana leaders. Now, Samuel Young III— who once sat in a scholar’s seat—is steering the program into its next chapter.

Investing in people

As a student, Dawn Michele Whitehead, BA’97, MS’03, PhD’07, greatly benefited from the time faculty and alumni invested in her. Now the Hudson & Holland scholar turned IUAA Board president feels it’s her responsibility to pay it forward. Her mission: to enable IU students to have the greatest impact possible on the state, the nation, and the world.

As a nontraditional student, having accessible opportunities has completely changed my life! Jesse and Beulah Cox’s generosity has inspired me to use my education for the greater good and to give back to my community.

We are always striving.
