Teaming up to fund big ideas, address needs

Opportunity for all
All IU students, faculty, and staff—across all campuses—with the capacity to manage and effectively utilize a grant are encouraged to apply for funding.
The application for the 2027–28 grant cycle will open November 1, 2026. Apply once to be considered for funding by all of IU’s affinity giving groups.
Uniting donors for maximum impact
People who are passionate about IU—and eager to make a difference through philanthropy—come together in IU’s Affinity Giving groups. These collective giving circles help donors combine their resources to support a wide range of initiatives at Indiana University and beyond.
Black Philanthropy Circle
The Black Philanthropy Circle (BPC) is dedicated to helping students, faculty, and staff from all backgrounds thrive at IU. It provides grants to a variety of projects and initiatives that build strong support systems and networks, promoting engagement and a sense of belonging for everyone.
BPC grants have previously supported initiatives like the IU Black Student Leadership Conference and bringing Dance Theatre of Harlem to IU campuses.
Latino Philanthropy Circle
IU’s Latino Philanthropy Circle (LPC) is committed to empowering all students, including those in Latino communities, on all IU campuses.
LPC grants are awarded to programs that celebrate traditions and cultural experiences; initiatives that educate, inspire, and engage our communities; and resources and opportunities that help IU students earn their degrees.
Queer Philanthropy Circle
The Queer Philanthropy Circle (QPC) supports all students, staff, and faculty, including those in the LGBTQ+ community, to enrich the IU experience for all. The QPC awards grants to initiatives that improve student recruitment, retention, and degree attainment, and enhance the quality of professional life for faculty and staff on IU’s campuses.
Past grant recipients include a cultural competency program for faculty at the IU School of Dentistry and counseling services at the IU Indianapolis LGBTQ+ Center, among other programs.
Women’s Philanthropy at IU
Women’s Philanthropy at IU is passionate about fueling progress across IU and around the world. Women’s Philanthropy grants are not limited to “women’s causes”—the group seeks to fund initiatives that address critical needs, new ventures, and innovative solutions to social problems.
Programs funded by Women’s Philanthropy include GoBabyGo at IU, which provides modified ride-in toy cars to children with limited mobility, as well as the Books and Beyond Program, which provided over 2,000 eye exams and eyeglasses to young people in Rwanda.
