Build your foundation in philanthropy
Valuable experiences, real-world impact
The Daniel C. Smith Internship Program is a 12-week program running from mid-May to mid-August. You’ll work 40 hours per week and be competitively compensated for your time. Your internship will include hands-on learning, team-building projects, networking opportunities, and more.
Learning series
You’ll begin by learning the IU way of fundraising from development professionals. Then you’ll apply your learnings to various projects and activities during the 12-week program.
Case competition
Under the guidance of a development mentor, you’ll compete in teams to solve a real business problem.
Networking opportunities
You’ll have access to 300+ fundraising and fundraising support professionals who are here to help you in your internship journey. You’ll also have the opportunity to interact with donors and friends of IU.
Capstone presentation
At the end of the program, you’ll present your projects and learnings to an audience of development leaders—an opportunity to build your portfolio and leave an impression on potential future employers!
