Investing in Our Leaders Program

Channel your passion into action

Are you passionate about supporting access, opportunity, and empowerment for all at Indiana University? Add your voice and vision to one of IU’s affinity giving groups:

  • Black Philanthropy Circle
  • Latino Philanthropy Circle
  • Queer Philanthropy Circle
  • Women’s Philanthropy

Volunteer with one of these dynamic groups to raise funds and award grants to innovative projects and helpful resources across all IU campuses.

Investing in Our Leaders program

Each circle requires members to make a minimum donation. With this potential financial constraint in mind, we created Investing in Our Leaders. The program sponsors a limited number of memberships each year, opening the door for more members with the expertise, time, and dedication to make a difference.

What you gain

  • Board volunteer experience
  • Networking opportunities
  • Complimentary active membership to your chosen circle, with voting privileges
  • Deeper IU engagement in support of students, faculty, staff, and communities from all walks of life

Your commitment

  • Service as an active member for a three-year term
  • Attendance at three business meetings per year
  • Active participation in at least one committee

Application requirements

  • Resume
  • Personal statement detailing the unique skills and prospective you bring, as well as what you hope to gain by participating in the group that you’re interested in (Black Philanthropy Circle, Latino Philanthropy Circle, Queer Philanthropy Circle, or Women’s Philanthropy).

Deadline to apply

The annual application deadline is May 1, with membership terms beginning July 1.

Give the gift of membership

Our giving circles are able to provide complimentary memberships because of your support. One year of membership is $5,000, and a three-year term is $15,000. Your gift in any amount can help us create more opportunities for qualified individuals to serve IU and improve lives. Donate now.
