Support for IU students and programs

IU’s LGBTQ+ Alumni Association (LGBTQ+AA) is committed to helping create opportunities that benefit IU students, alumni, and other members of our community. We’re proud to foster initiatives that promote learning, understanding, and connection across IU’s campuses.

Your contributions can further our efforts to improve the quality of life for everyone connected to IU, including members and allies of the LGBTQ+ community.

Scholarship opportunities

We award scholarships to students based on their academic achievements and leadership experiences, including but not limited to leadership on LGBTQ+ issues. The application is open to students from October 1 to March 10 for the following academic year—apply by completing the IU scholarship application in your One.IU account.

Emergency funding available for IU students

Sometimes, students lose family support suddenly. They might experience a medical emergency or receive a high utility bill they can’t afford to pay. When sudden financial issues arise that compromise a student’s ability to continue their education at IU, we want to help provide a safety net.

While our group does not currently award emergency scholarships, students can find emergency funding opportunities on every IU campus.
